Introduction To Studying The Timing

Let’s be honest. Many predictions have been made about when the world will end and they have always been wrong. Consequently, it’s very easy for us to assume that any end-of-time prediction will be wrong. After all, history has taught us that we seemingly can’t trust any statement about when the world will end.

These inaccurate predictions have almost always been based on something other than the Bible. Some of them may have claimed to be based on Scripture, but when you really examine them you discover they were largely just taking a few statements in God’s Word and trying to relate them to what they saw going on in the world politically. Other predictions have been based on feelings, dreams, visions, astrology, or other sources outside of the Bible.

What we are going to look at is the timing of the world’s end based entirely on the Bible. We are going to examine numerous time clues God has placed within the Bible itself and we will discover that they all work together to agree on the same conclusion.

We must realize that what we are dealing with here is very serious and we can’t go about this flippantly. The information we gather needs to be checked and re-checked. We can’t allow our feelings or preconceived notions to enter into our learning.

We will discover that, based on what we can currently know from the Bible, it appears God is revealing the following dates to us:

Beginning of Great Tribulation May 22, 1988
Beginning of Latter Rain September 7, 1994
Rapture May 21, 2011
End of the World October 21, 2011

Wait, doesn’t the Bible say no one can know the day or the hour? Isn’t Christ coming as a thief in the night? We will see that God has carefully crafted those statements and there is more to them than we previously thought.
