EARTH'S TIMELINE

Abram To Present

Now let's chart out the years given to us from Abram's birth to Solomon's death:

We are not given any additional data that allows us to continue charting years by generations represented by lifespans, but the Bible still gives us sufficient information to accurately chart the remaining span of time. Each segment is explained as follows:

SEGMENT G: This segment begins at Abram's birth. We are told that Abram's immediate son, Isaac, was born when Abram was 100 years old (Genesis 21:5). So this segment begins at Abram's birth and ends at Isaac's birth, spanning a total of 100 years.

SEGMENT H: This segment begins at Isaac's birth. We are told that Isaac's immediate son, Jacob, was born when Isaac was 60 years old (Genesis 25:26). So this segment begins at Isaac's birth and ends at Jacob's birth, spanning a total of 60 years.

SEGMENT I: This segment begins at Jacob's birth. We are told that Jacob's family enters Egypt when Jacob is 130 years old (Genesis 47:9). So this segment begins at Jacob's birth and ends when his family enters Egypt, spanning a total of 130 years.

Together, the above 3 segments total 290 years as indicated on the chart.

SEGMENT J: This segment begins with Jacob's family entering Egypt. We are told that the Israelites leave Egypt 430 years later (Exodus 12:40). So this segment begins at the entrance of Jacob's family into Egypt and ends with the exodus, spanning a total of 430 years.

SEGMENT K: This segment begins when the Israelites leave Egypt. We are told that 480 years pass from this point to the fourth year of Solomon's reign (1 Kings 6:1). These 480 years make up this segment.

SEGMENT L: We are told that Solomon reigns for 40 years until his death (1 Kings 11:42). Since the first four of those years are included in Segment K, this segment is comprised of the remaining 36 years of his reign.

When we add up all of the above segments we conclude that 1,236 years passed from Abram's birth to Solomon's death. When we include our segments from Genesis Chapters 5 and 11 we conclude that 10,082 years passed from Creation to Solomon's death.

BLUE VERTICAL LINE: This line represents the point up to which we have used nothing but the Bible to construct our timeline. After this line we must use secular records. However, we have accurate and reliable secular records that indicate that Solomon died in 931 BC (references below). Since we know that his death was 10,082 years after Creation all we have to do is count back 10,082 years from 931 BC and we discover that the Earth was created in 11,013 BC.
